100 Books to read before adulthood

Yes, I want you, my students, to stretch your minds and ability by reading more complex books, but at the same time, I also want to encourage you to read books that may seem a wee bit below your reading level.  The reason for this is that books aimed at children, pre-teens, and young adults can help you begin to see the world in a more complete manner.
Go over the list and see what you have read, see what looks interesting, and then give a book a try.  They shouldn't take you long to read.  Oh, and if you really want to be awesome, choose one of the books and read it to your little brother, sister, cousin, etc.  You will be amazed at the type of hero you can become to little minds simply by reading a book.
As always, this is not a list of the 100 best kids books, but it gives a diverse look at the works out there.  The list is alphabetical by author last name.  Also, you will notice that, technically, there are more than 100 books.  If the book was part of a series, I have listed the series (as with the Harry Potter series) in hopes that you will work through the series.   Enjoy.
