We will start the day with a Post-It Quickwrite, which will be followed by a short discussion on whether folklore influences the modern world.
From there, it is time to connect with partner as we will go through our What Is It? Partnered Activity. You will be working with your partner to get the best score (most accurate scores will receive a prize next week.
While we wait for the district to figure out that they don't need to block turnitin.com, I will use this time to share with your the Terms to Know for Unit 2.
September 15
We are closing in on the end of our introductory unit. Today we will be taking A Look at Myths. As always, we will have a combination of notes, a reading, adding an activity this time, and a discussion.
We will then get our last main genre of interest, which means we will be taking A Look at Urban Legends. The normal expectations here (no activity this time, though).
September 14
Today, we are continuing forward and will take A Look at Riddles. Once again, this will include notes, a reading, and a discussion.
We will then see how far we can get with A Look at Nursery Rhymes. If we do not finish the notes, reading, and discussion today, we will complete it during our next class.

We're going to move straight into our Introductory unit. First up is a round of notes on just what Global Folklore and what it's about.
We will follow that up with A Look at Fairy Tales. This will include notes, a reading, and a discussion.
Finally, we will start A Look at Folk Tales. We will get as far as we can through these notes, reading, and discussion.
